The Central Government approved the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission in 2016. Government approved a minimum basic salary of 18,000 rupees for the Central Government employees. The factor factor was 2.57 percent for the increase. However, the pay recommendations by the 7th CPC were not sufficient for the employees because they demanded more growth. They wanted more salary hikes than those recommended by the Seventh Pay Commission. They went on a strike in 2016. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had promised that his concerns would be kept in mind.

Central Government employees wanted that the minimum monthly salary would be 26,000 rupees per month. They demanded 3.68 times the fit factor, which should increase the minimum and maximum salary of the Central Government employees.

According to the report, the government may agree to the minimum wage of Rs 21,000 and the fiat factor to be 3 times. However, due to financial constraints the government may find it difficult to do this.
