The Captain Government has released a list of vacations in the year 2018, which has seen major changes. Gazetted holidays for employees have been reduced from 34 to 18, while reserved 18 holidays have been increased to 37.
It is noteworthy that many important holidays have been excluded from the list of Gazetteer Vacations. Shaheed Bhagat Singh's birth and martyrdom day, Mahashivaratri, Namdhari Guru Ram Singh, Baisakhi, Parasuram Jayanti, May Day, Kabir Jayanti, Udham Singh's martyrdom day, Guru Granth Sahib's Prakashotsav, Id-ul-Zuha, Agrasen Jayanti, Vishwakarma Divas And martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is no longer included in the list of gazetted vacations. These are included in 37 reserved vacations and the employees can take 5 vacations in a year as per their preference.
On the 26th of January, the Republic Day, January 26, the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas, Holi on March 2, Ram Navami on March 25, Mahavir Jayanti on March 29, Good Friday on March 30, and on 14th April B.R. Eid ul-Fitr on June 16, Ambedkar Birthday on 16th June, Independence Day on 15th August, Independence Day on August 15, Janmashtami on 3rd September, Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Dussehra on October 19th, Mahaswasi Valmiki Jayanti, on November 7, on Diwali, November 23, a gazette holiday on Christmas Day on December 25, on the birthday of Shri Guru Nanak Dev, on December 25. The festival of Guru Gobind Singh ji has been discharged but its date will be announced later.
