The GST Council has decided to completely eliminate tax on 29 items of handicrafts giving large relief to small business owners.
Apart from this, the GST rate of about 39 other items has been reduced. These items have been reduced by 5 percent to 12 percent from GST. Thus, it has been decided to allow tax on total 68 items. Uttarakhand Finance Minister Prakash Patan gave this information after 25th meeting of the GST Council.
Apart from this, after meeting GST council meeting, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley gave this information in the press conference. However, no decision has been taken to bring the petrol and diesel into GST structure. Apart from this, there was no discussion on bringing the real estate sector into the GST structure at the GST Council meeting. There is no relief available to the business in GST filing yet.
